FRIDAY AT THE OTHER STAGE

64 DAYS TO GO

Friday on the Other Stage starts off with popster Chipmunk a weird way to start the best stage at the Festival and it’s not really until the third act in that the Other Stage starts to boogie, and that’s with New Zealand’s The Naked and the Famous. This should be the start of a cracking day.

New Zealands The Naked and the Famous

The Fleet Foxes Chillin

Rock and Roll Saviours The Vaccines are next up, hopefully the big stage that is the Other Stage does not intimidate them. All reviews of them live are positive so I am looking forward to this. The Wombats are up next, love them or hate them they write great pop songs, and with a new album out shortly they should get a massive crowd. Next up is a unmissable American double of Bright Eyes and The Fleet Foxes. Conner O’berst should be amazing and I can’t wait for the new Fleet Foxes album to see what direction they take.

Future Superstars Mumford and Sons

Then it is Mumford & Sons, who could be the stars of 2011, I missed them last year to see Florence and the Machine, I won’t make the same mistake this year, I will be definitely seeing Mumford. Last but not least Primal Scream are playing Scremadelica and some of their other big hits, if you haven’t seen them before make sure you catch these guys, I was around in 94,95 and saw these guys a few times, boy can they bring it.
All in all I could spend near enough the whole day at The Other Stage on the Friday, although I probably won’t as it seems like a waste of a Glastonbury day, to be there all day.
